Monthly Wrap Up

October Wrap up| 2017

Hey Bibliomaniacs,

talking as fast as I can

Where on earth has this year gone? How are already into the middle of November?

So, I guess I should wrap up the month of October and let you know what I really read off my extremely ambitious TBR.

I read 2 books in the month of October. The first being Lauren Graham’s “Talking as Fast as I can: From Gilmore Girl’s to Gilmore Girls and Everything in Between. I am a huge fan of “Gilmore Girl’s “, so when I heard that Lauren Graham released a collection of personal essays about her life and “Gilmore Girls”, I knew I had to get my hands on it. I chose to listen to this as an audio book, because Lauren Graham narrates it and it was almost like I was experiencing “Gilmore Girls” all over again expect the visuals were in my mind. I really enjoyed this book. I was able to clear up some questions that were left at the end of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the life” which was the reboot Netflix came out with. Its safe to say I loved this book, and that if you are a “Gilmore Girls” fan this book is a must to read.

Another book that I listened to on audio was “A Girl with a Dragon Tattoo”, by Stieg Larson. This was a reread for me. This time around I definitely have mixed feelings about it. This was one of the books that was on my top 5 recommendations

The Girl with the dragon tatoo list whenever anyone asked what they should read. Although, I enjoyed revisiting the world in this book it wasn’t as exciting and intriguing to me as it was the first time I read the book. I found the characters flawed and the story to sometime lose its intrigued. There were parts of the story which I realized, that I just didn’t understand what was going on. This wasn’t because the writing was poor. I just found that the story dragged in some parts.  However, I also was al to more interested in Salander’s character has a lot of depth which I am very interested to explore in the next few books.

With Warm Cups of Tea, and Just a Few More Chapters,

Rina
